Hongwei Qi
Founder & CEO
Dr. Hongwei Qi, our founder, firmly believed that large-scale, high-quality training data could empower the application of artificial intelligence by improving the accuracy of AI models, and smart life will become reachable and reliable.
Before founding Datatang, Dr. Qi was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and got postdoctoral at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was a director of the research center for intelligent information processing in the NEC Labs China. He was selected to be the Beijing High-tech Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talents Support Program leader.
Dr. Hongwei Qi led Datatang to land on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ).

June
Datatang joined Tencent, Tsinghua University, and China Computer Federation (CCF) to hold the 2021 Video Multi-Modal Recognition Challenge (VMR 2021).
August
Obtained ISO 27701 certification.

2020
August
Datatang joined Huawei, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Johns Hopkins University held the 2020 Accented English Speech Recognition Challenge & Workshop (AESRC 2020).
October
Datatang joined dozens of Universities and Institutions and launched 14 open-source datasets.

Obtained ISO 27701 and ISO 9001 certifications.

Launched Datatang Japan Branch in Tokyo.

Launched open source 1,505 Hours-Mandarin Speech by Mobile Phone dataset.

Launched Baoding Data Processing Center.
